Description: Maakia is super valuable as a legume in forest gardens in temperate areas with high water tables. They are good in other areas so long as their roots get to moisture. They are slow growing in the first few years unless weeds around them are suppressed. Timber ground durable, coppices well, feathery light canopy, excellent bee and insect forage in flowers, chicken food seeds. We like them because they add so much and take up so little space

Planting Instructions: Pour boiling water over seeds and soak in water for 24 hours and then sow into a tray. Keep moist. Prick out into pots. Plant into final position in late Winter/early Spring.
