Description: This rhubarb was donated to our collection from a very old garden on the shores of the Kaipara, near Pouto, by Logan Forrest. It is one of the food plants that came to this land with the early Dalmatian gumdiggers. The stalks are green and red of medium size. They are beautiful, healthy and productive plants.

Planting Instructions: Rhubarb is a heavy feeder that requires rich moist soil. Adding manure to the soil before planting is recommended as is mulching and making sure it is kept watered in dry weather. Best grown in partial shade. Space plants at about 75cms apart.
