Support Our Work

Our kaupapa, our principle mission, is to safeguard and sustain New Zealand’s genetic and cultural heritage through our living, thriving heritage seed collection. This work is not done in isolation but through a conscious intertwining of sustainable soil, plant, animal and human health practices. With the development of education programs for future and current generations we are building capacity and practical knowledge that will enable communities to be self reliant in using regenerative land practices to grow nutrient dense foods. There are so many ways for you to support the work we do here at Koanga.

The best way to support our work is to become a member and to purchase our seeds and plants and to encourage other people to do the same. This membership brochure can be downloaded and printed to encourage other people to join. Our full range of seeds, plants and products is available in our on-line store and our seeds are are all stocked in a range of retail stores across New Zealand.

Donations are also a fantastic way to support us. Koanga Institute is registered with New Zealand 's charity commission as a Non Profit Organisation, as a result your donations are tax deductible. Please have a good look around and find a way of giving that calls out to you!  If you'd like to receive our regular email newsletter, please sign up here

If you own or are part of a business that might be interested in supporting Koanga through business sponsorship we would love to hear from you. More information here

If you have heritage fruit trees or plants that are particularly special ones please let us know. There is a form to complete re offering wood from old fruit trees that you can find here. It is important that we collect the information required to help us make a decision on whether to trial a tree as that is a fairly long term and costly process.
