A practical 1 day workshop to introduce you to keeping bees naturally, using the Abbe Warre and horizontal Top Bar bee hive systems.
On this 1 day workshop you will learn about building your own Top Bar beehives, and learn about practical systems for hive management, using the Abbe Warrre and horizontal Top Bar hives.
We will explain the main differences between these hives and standard bee hive systems, and how you can have a healthy, productive beehive with no ongoing costs. Kay has been a beekeeper for many years, but never felt comfortable with the standard systems. She has embraced Top Bar beekeeping, which she sees as making total sense. The natural approach to beekeeping allows the bees to regulate their own hive in every way and maintain their strength, which is crucial in the fight against varroa mite and other modern diseases.
Kay subscribes to the epigenetics theory that says that enviroment determines genetic expression which makes it possible for home beekeepers to understand and learn how to radically improve the health of their bees.
A whole new bee world will open up in this workshop, it's empowering and practical and simple.
Morning and Afternoon tea provided, please bring your own Lunch.
