Sent to me by Mrs Patterson of Howick who has its history right back in her family to when it was stolen by a gardener from King George’s garden. Very colourful pods - yellow with bright red streaks. A wide, flat short type with a curly point on the end and no strings. An excellent addition to any home garden. Can be eaten as a green bean when young and flat, (it's like an old fashioned butterbean) and is particularly good as a shellout bean or even as a dried bean. (20) |
