Fred's Dwarf: dwarf; green snap(Phaseolus vulgaris )NZ HeritageThis bean came to our collection from Chris Piper of Auckland Auckland but it had been grown for many years before that in Christchurch by Chris’s father. It is a stunning bean, flat green with a curly tail and lots of deep purple steaks on the pods. They are a very tasty, but must be eaten when young to avoid the strings and toughness. It is a great early season bean to grow under a cloche, also as a late cloche bean. (20) |
