Sauerkraut Pounder

These pounders are designed to be used to make our lactic pickles, including sauerkraut. Fermented foods were a fundamental part of the diets of all of our ancestors and these pickles are delicious and easy to make. The microbial life in these pickles supports our healthy intestinal flora. We recommend the recipes in "wild fermentation" "a change of heart" and "nourishing traditions."

These are hand turned from kauri, and can be used for small batches of sauerkraut, making the job easier.
