Wheat: KoniniA stunning wheat cultivar bred in NZ from an old line that has purple seeds. Konini needs a little effort to remove the hulls (see corn grinder o page??) but is a beautiful crop to grow and easy to protect from the birds because it does not grow as high as other grains listed here. Our preferred end use for the grain is as sprouted wheat cakes, or eaten whole like rice. Best sown in Autumn, can be sown early Spring |
