Apprentice Garden Manager

An incredible opportunity exists for someone who's life's work it is to be a gardener, someone who believes in being the change that they want to see in the world.  The Koanga Institute is seeking someone who is dedicated and willing to train in the methods of Biointensive food production and the principles of growing Nutrient Dense Food.

Full training is offered to the right person; you will have one on one training and guidance from Kay Baxter and you will work alongside the Koanga Institute staff, growing NZ heritage seed and preparing gardens for the Institute. You must be physically fit, and used to doing physical work.

This role requires someone who is resourceful and self motivated, able to work independently but also capable of managing volunteers and interns. The role will be challenging and creative, we're looking for someone who is passionate about life, gardening, food, seeds and health.

We are working with appropriate technology and creating a realistic model for a more sustainable way of life. We see this role developing to encompass  teaching and public relations for the institute.  This is a long term opportunity for the right person.
