Opportunities
The Koanga Institute is committed to sharing with others that which we have learned through our research over the past 30 years. We are currently in the process of looking for our new land - for the Institute and for our Community Land Trust. As soon as we find our new land, we will be looking for apprentices and interns. We are hoping to start work on this in the summer of 2010 - 2011, but until we find our new land, we are not in a position to take any interns or apprenticeships. Please make contact with us if you are interested in an opportunity like this, as we'd love to hear from you and start planning.
Apprenticeships:
Apprenticeship programs are for those with a long-term commitment to a vocation in their field of interest. Each program will be individualized and include working with us as well as mentoring with us and others. The program will include a deep commitment to living simply within the permaculture paradigm.
Interns
Internships offer the opportunity for people to come and 'absorb' the essence of our work and philosophy while they support the work of the Institute in a practical way.
We grow or wild harvest most of our own food, and we strongly follow the principles espoused by the Weston A Price Foundation ( westonaprice.org ) This will be a significant part of your learning.
Here is some feedback from our previous Interns/apprentices.
