Koanga Auction Ideas!

We're asking for donations for our online auction, to help raise funds for our Heritage seed garden. The idea is that we're hoping that our members and supporters will be able to donate new and old items for the auction, or other things such as accomodation or services. In this way we hope that we can recycle things that are no longer being used, give them new homes, and put the money to good use. We'll list all the items online (on sella.co.nz) - and the public will be able to bid to win each item, it is very simple. (See the growing list at the end of this page for items that have been donated already...)

We know our members are a creative and resourceful bunch of people - Here are some ideas, we'd love to hear from you, so have a think about what you might be able to donate, please get in touch! To let us know what you've got - please fill out the form here.  You can specify if your item needs to be picked up after the auction, or if it is something that doesn't need shipping.

Could you donate....?

* Time at your holiday bach - when you're not using it, someone else could use it for a weekend away.
* Instruments - do you have an old guitar, violin, banjo or tuba?? Instruments should be played - donate yours to a good cause.
*Artwork - paintings, sculptures, prints, drawings photographs - a great way to get some exposure for emerging artists, or donate an artwork you don't have enough space for.
* Kitchen equipment - ever use that ice cream maker? silver tea pot or princess di teatowel?
* Does your business have excess stock that could be donated? anything could be donated - books, products, food, wine, clothes, antiques, materials... what ever you've got. Good exposure for your brand too.
* Are you a knitter, sewer or weaver? handmade crafts are most appreciated, get creative!
* Books, esp instructive books, classics, and out of print titles
* Interesting things - rare and unique - we know our supporters are an interesting bunch - we're sure you've got some treasures that could be donated…. surprise us!
* Raw materials - maybe you've finished a project and you've got spare materials … they could be put to good use by someone else. Fabric, Wood, Iron, Tiles...
* Tools and equipment - we're especially keen to get non-electric tools and equipment for do it yourself home projects - winemaking, building, gardening, baking, craft, dressmaking… Grinders, sausage makers...
* Antiques and Vintage items - curios, artwork, old things that might take someone's fancy. Anything from old linen to tools, books and artworks and collectables.
* Do you have skills to teach? Maybe you could donate a lesson - so someone can have an introduction lesson - a music lesson or learn to fly! whatever you can do - donate a lesson.
* Do you own a restaurant - where you could donate a meal for two,  or a night's accommodation…
* Are you a photographer, who could donate a photographic session?
* Are you a chimney sweep who could sweep someone's chimney?
* Is your child the next picasso?, maybe you could take one of the paintings off the fridge and auction it off - tell your friends and family, they might want to bid on it!
* Do you have children - instead of donating them, perhaps you could ask them for ideas - they could donate some toy or books that they've grown out of - or they could make us something special to auction.
* Massage, Yoga Classes, Haircuts, Beauty Treatments, can you donate anything like that?
* Photographs - artworks or old photos - people love this stuff! Especially historical NZ photos
* A box of avocados, fair-trade chocolate, local roasted coffee beans...
* Are you a performer, could you donate a gig (you can specify a local area)
* Christmas presents that you didn't really need - put them to a good cause!
