This potato was previous called Koanga in the Institute but we now know it's real name is Red King. It is a selection from King Edward and as far as I can tell is the same except the skin colouring is the opposite to King Edward which has a cream skin wth red blotches. This cultivar has red skin with cream blotches. it is a main crop variety and is good for all cooking purposes.
