La Ratte Potato SPONSORSHIP for 2011
The Ratte (also known as La Ratte, Ratte de Touquet, or Asparges) is a small fingerling type potato with a unique nutty flavor and smooth, buttery texture. The variety originated in France or Denmark in the late 19th century and is a favorite of French chefs and works great for roasting and boiling. It has been in NZ since the days of the early pakeha settlers.
By sponsoring this potato for a year, you will be helping us to strengthen the genetics of this cultivar, to develop disease resistance and maintain the line, and to make it available to our members and the public in the future ...and for future generations. Thank you!
Your name will be published alongside this potato on our Potato Project thank you list.
